How we do it

We use BCY string products excusively in our string building process.  The reliability and consistency of these materials produce better final products.   

The string materials we use to construct our strings is BCY X-99, BCY X (limited stock), and 452X (speckled colours only).

Dyneema is a UHMPE(ultra high molecular weight Polyethylene)and is a very tough material with the highest impact strength of all thermoplastics.  It is highly resistant to corrosive chemicals, extremely low moisture absorption and a very low coefficient of friction.  It is self lubricating and highly resistant to abrasion; 15 times more resistant than steel which makes it ideal for bowstrings.

Vectran is noted for thermal stability at high temperatures, high strength and modulus(axial stiffness or stretch) and has a tensile strength similar to kevlar.

BCY-X is comprised of 83% SK90 Dyneema and 17% Vectran and has all the benefits of 452X and 8190.  This product is known for good arrow speeds, no creep, low fuzziness and high abrasion resistance.  Good for both compounds and recurves.

BCY X-99 is comprised of 80% SK 99 Highest Quality Dyneema ans 20% Vectran.  This product is known for good arrow speeds, no creep, low fuzziness, and high abrasion resistance.  Good for both compounds and recurves.

Our serving of choice is BCY Halo, 3D, and 2X .  Bowstrings are predominantly served with 3D to resist separation and string twist., halo for most control and buss cables, and 2X for all end loops which resists strand separation when tensioned and smaller diameter.  although halo costs us more to build strings with we feel it provides increased durability as roller serving and cam lobe stress.  It's comprised of 100% tightly braided spectra for high durability.

Centre Serving of choice is BCY Powergrip which is a new blend of tightly braided spectra and nylon yarn which is very durable and grips well.
