Shipping policy
Every set is built to order
We don't hold finished strings in stock. Your set is cut, served and prestretched to 375 lb for your bow after you order it, which is why it fits and why there's no break‑in period to shoot through. It also means the wait is real build time, not warehouse time.
Current build time is shown on our homepage, and that figure is the one to trust — we keep it in one place so it can't be out of date in a second. Accessories ordered on their own ship right away.
What shipping costs

Every set we build is over $50, so shipping a string set anywhere in Canada is free. The $10 rate exists for accessories bought on their own.
All prices on this site are in Canadian dollars.
Where we ship
Canada and the continental United States. We don't currently ship to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories or outside North America — if you're there and you want a set, write to us and we'll work out what it would cost rather than guessing at checkout.
Tracking
Everything ships tracked. You'll get a confirmation email with a tracking number when your order leaves us — that email is the one worth watching for, because it means the build is finished.
If tracking stops moving for several days, tell us at orders@rivercitystrings.ca. We'll chase the carrier ourselves rather than sending you to do it.
United States orders
US orders ship from Canada. Most string orders fall well under the value where US import duty applies, so in practice there's usually nothing to pay — but any duties, import taxes or brokerage charged at the border are the customer's responsibility, not ours, and they aren't included in the $20 rate.
In‑store pickup
You can collect from either store instead of paying shipping:

Pickup orders are paid online when you place them, the same as any other order. Choosing pickup saves you the shipping and the wait at the end — it doesn't change the build time, because the set still has to be built.
We'll email you when it's actually ready. Don't come in before that email arrives; a set that isn't finished isn't waiting on the shelf. Store and bench hours are on the contact page, and the bench hours are the ones that matter if you want anything fitted while you wait.
Peep sights ship loose
A peep ordered with a set is included in the box but not installed — it isn't served into the string. Fitting a peep properly means setting it to your anchor and your draw, which we can't do by post. Bring the bow into Campbell River or Kamloops and we'll fit it over the counter.
If something arrives damaged, or doesn't arrive
Tell us at orders@rivercitystrings.ca with your order number and, if there's damage, a photo of the packaging as well as the contents. We'll make it right — we deal with the carrier, you don't.
If a parcel is confirmed lost in transit we rebuild and reship at no charge. That is our problem to solve, not yours to argue.
