Warranty
We warranty peep rotation and creep for six months. Both of those words get used loosely in archery, so before the terms, here is exactly what we mean by them — a warranty you can't measure isn't worth much to either of us.
What we mean by peep rotation
Every peep moves a little between brace and full draw. That is the string twisting as it comes under load. It happens on every bow ever built, it is not a fault, and no string eliminates it. Up to an eighth of a turn from brace to full draw is normal and is not a warranty matter, because nothing is wrong.
What we cover is the peep no longer sitting where it was set. If your peep lined up at full draw when the string was tuned, and weeks later it is pointing somewhere else at full draw, the string has changed — not your anchor and not your form. That is the fault, and that is what carries six months.
The test is simple enough to do at home: come to full draw and look. If the peep is square, it is doing its job.
What we mean by creep
Creep is a string permanently getting longer under load. It stretches and does not come back. It is not the same as the string settling in — ours have already done that on the jig.
You see creep as a peep that has gone out of alignment and stayed there, a draw length that has crept longer, a brace height that has dropped, or an axle‑to‑axle that no longer matches spec. Those are four symptoms of one thing. If a set of ours does any of them inside six months, that is our problem to fix.
This is what the 375 lb prestretch is for. The string does its moving on our jig instead of on your bow, which is also why there is no break‑in period to shoot through.
What we cover
Everything below is covered for six months from the date you bought it, whichever fault it is. One number, so there is nothing to look up and nothing to misremember.

Every set is prestretched to 375 lb before it leaves the jig. Peep rotation and creep are what that process is for, and we back them for six months.

On servings, we'll be straight with you
On today's short‑brace, high‑poundage bows, the centre serving is a consumable. It takes a beating in the cam tracks and at the string stop, and after a season of shooting a separating centre serving usually means the serving is worn out — not that it was built wrong. Six months is the window in which separation points at us rather than at mileage.
A worn centre serving doesn't mean a worn‑out string. We re‑serve centres at the counter in Campbell River and Kamloops — $45, any brand of string, usually while you wait. It's a fraction of the cost of a new set and it puts a season‑old string back into service. Ask us before you replace it.
What we don't cover
- Wear in high‑stress areas. Cam tracks, cable slides and rollers chew servings. That's mileage, not a defect.
- Damage from installation. A string pinched in a press, twisted past spec, or run over a burred cam track. If a cam or a track has a sharp edge, it will cut anything we build.
- Dry fires. A dry fire can damage a string invisibly. We'll always look at it, but we won't warranty it.
- Modification. Strings that have been cut, re‑twisted beyond normal tuning, or had components added by someone else.
- Normal fuzzing. Every string in the world fuzzes. It is cosmetic and it does not affect performance.
Who it covers
The warranty runs to the original purchaser and is not transferable. If you bought through a dealer, come to us directly — you don't need to go back through them.
How to claim
Email warranty@rivercitystrings.ca with your order number and a photo or short video showing the problem. Photographs matter: nine times in ten we can identify the failure from an image and have parts moving the same day.
If the claim is approved we ship you a replacement free of charge. You keep the original — there's nothing to send back and nothing to pay.
If you're near Campbell River or Kamloops, bring it in instead. A serving fault we can put right at the counter usually gets sorted the same day, and you leave with your own string rather than waiting on the post.
